Friday's Recap

Today's workout:
8 mile recovery run

Hola amigos!
Last night's dinner fete for my mother was quite spectacular. My brother-in-law cooked lasagna (my mother's favorite dish) and he cooked me grilled salmon, brown rice and a sweet potato. I had quite the appetite since I ran 20 miles that day.
Anyway, my mother arrived to my sister's house at 7ish and she had no idea I was there. It was awesome! She thought I was at work, but fortunately, I was able to take it off.

And a cake of course!
After dinner, we did the usual- we cleaned our dishes and then we sang Happy Birthday to the birthday girl....
It was also my friend Kim's birthday, so we got ready and headed to "Area 31" in the Epic building in Brickell (in Miami) where she was having her birthday celebration...

So, after a night of laughter and good times, I went home and got a good night's sleep... This morning I did the usual things: run, eat and blog! =)
Before I went on my run, I used this blood glucose machine that my mother bought me.
She says that I NEED to monitor my sugar levels since I'm running so much (you know how moms are!)... Well, I tried it out and this is what it read:
81 mg...Not too bad. According to WebMD, the normal range of blood glucose (during fasting) is between 70 to 100 mg. Since my blood glucose levels are typically low, I usually drink a glass of OJ before my runs.
