10 miles @ the track
Howdy Friends and Happy Tuesday!
Well, today was my last track session before the big race.
The break-down went like this:
2 mile warm up; 6 sets of 800 meters @3:10 min (per 800 interval) with a 400 meter jog; 2 mile cool down
I ended up running about 10 miles and I felt great. The weather was slightly humid, but it wasn't too hot.
After my run, I went home and ate a good hearty breakfast of oatmeal with walnuts and hard-boiled eggs (Yum!), oh, and I can't forget my new flavored coffee.
Dunkin Donuts Coconut-flavored coffee DELISH!
After breakfast, I hurried over to the Cleveland Clinic for one more exam of my "athletic" heart. Since my training is so intense, I want to make sure that everything is how it should be!
My visit to the doctor's office ended up taking four hours! I was slightly impatient and HUNGRY! After a few hours of waiting, I went in and down they strapped me into a bed. Then they stuck me through a cylinder tube and the technician kindly told me "If you're claustrophobic I would have known already." I was like WHAT? Ok, admittedly I was feeling nervous because I had never done an MRI, but the tech was nice enough to give me some earphones and she played some Jazz music for me. I nearly fell asleep in that thing. But she was right, it wasn't too bad.
After all was said and done, my doc said that I had a very healthy and athletic heart <3
After the doctor's visit I raced home and I decided it was time for some rest & relaxation, so I put on my bathing suit and went to the pool.
It was nice to relax and unwind....I needed that!
How was your Tuesday?
