5.75 mile run
Hello friends! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend full of fun activities and fond memories with family and friends. I had a pretty relaxing weekend which included running, shopping, eating, dancing and barbecuing with the fam.
On Saturday morning I woke up at about 7 am and decided to go for a long run. I typically do my long runs on Saturdays since I am off from work that day. In case you're wondering, I am no longer patrolling the road as a police officer. Due to
I'm basically working Monday through Thursday from 7 am to 6 pm. My day really begins at 4:30 am when I get up for a run. I usually get home at about 7 pm which gives me about 1.5 hours to shower and eat and go to bed. Can anyone say EXHAUSTION? Yes, I'm totally tired by the end of the day, but then my weekend starts on Friday; you can't beat that!
Anyway, back to Saturday morning... So I went for a long run and ended up running 10 miles.
When I returned home I realized that I should have woken up earlier. It was so warm and humid that I was sweating in places I never knew I could sweat =/.
Either way, I happily ran to Key Biscayne and enjoyed running with other people on the Bridge. After my run I did a quick HIIT session that included:
4 sets of:
25 wall ball shots
20 walking lunges
Later in the day I went to the mall to buy some clothes and as I was driving home I got the sudden craving for a turkey wrap. It was a craving that I just needed to satisfy. It was over-powering and completely came out of nowhere. Is this what it means to have pregnancy cravings ? I guess so! I immediately went to the supermarket and bought a whole wheat turkey wrap (I heated the turkey by the way) with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, pickles (can't leave those out!) and black olives.
It was the most satisfying feeling in the world! MmMmMmMmM
Later on at night, hubby and I went to Berries in the Grove and ate a delectable dinner.
I ate a grilled salmon salad with avocado, mushroom and onions. I usually reserve one day a week to eat salmon because I am limited to 12oz a week since I'm pregnant. This totally sucks by the way because I LOVE fish =/.
So, a couple of days ago I received an interesting package/box by mail. The box was a child's cardboard Lego box and it was neatly taped with duct tape. Intriguingly I opened the box and found this inside:
It was a box with some clothes inside and a headband for running.
And it had a letter...
The box had a onesie with a cap inside...
One of my blogger followers named Nicole Kesten sent me this beautiful gift when she found out I was pregnant. I was so flattered and happy to receive the gift. I absolutely loved it! The cool thing is that Nicole is also a runner and blogger and she's a mother, so I'm pretty sure I'll be asking her questions about motherhood in the future! Thank you Nicole!
By the way... Lindsay from The Lean Green Bean posted one of my Sunday Night Food Preps on her blog. Click here to see my Sunday night food prep on her blog, along with, other blogger's ideas of food preparation for the week.

What did you do this weekend?
I'm grateful for the thoughtful people
