Transforming Your Morning Challenge

Hello friends and Happy Monday!!!
Today I want to pose a 30-day challenge for you. I have named this challenge the "Transforming your Morning" challenge because it requires the creation of certain behaviors/habits while eliminating others. What is the first thing you do in the morning? Do you exercise? Do you take a shower? Do you check your social media and update your status? I would venture to say that most people do not pray or meditate when they wake up nor do they say a positive mantra for the day.
Here's the CHALLENGE: When you wake up, or during some time in the morning, do one of the following:
1. Write one thing down that you are grateful for. You could write this down in a journal or diary.
2. Read something inspiring, such as a quote or daily devotional.
3. Have a mantra/positive affirmations for the day.
4. Meditate or pray.
-Did you know that being grateful for anything and everything can make you feel happier? Gratitude has been associated with greater contentment and positive thinking.
-Did you know that reading an inspiring quote can change your mindset? Words can't change our lives, but they can change our mindset and help us to change our actions and thoughts. Simple words can inspire you to make changes in your life.
-Did you know that positive self-talk could help you change your mindset about yourself and others? By repeating a certain phrase or mantra each day, you develop a different perception about the things going on in your life. The goal is to change negative self-talk with positive ones. For example, if you want to lose weight, DON'T think: "I can't lose weight," but rather say to yourself, "Losing weight is easy for me."
-Meditating and/or praying allows you to introspect and see yourself from a different angle. The more in tune you are with yourself and others, the less you are stressed and plagued by negative thoughts.
So, for the next 30 days, I will have a morning post that reflects what I'm grateful for, an inspiring quote and a mantra for the day. I encourage you to do the same when you wake up each day. You don't have to do all four, just pick one each day. It's small changes like these that have the most impact in our lives.

  1. This is a great 30 day challenge!! My mantra for the day is "Pray hardest when it is hardest to pray" and I am grateful for support I get from my friends and family.

  2. I love this idea. I stared at the back of someone's t-shirt for 13.1 miles this Sunday, and it said something like, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone".

    1. I totally agree. I always tell people to operate outside of their comfort zones. When you do this, you grow stronger and more confident.

  3. I misread, and did all 4 things this morning, but hey, nothing wrong with that! Here is just my quote for the day, "It took more than a day to put it on. It will take more than a day to take it off. Move."
